Efter två fantastiska säsonger återvänder SuperModel med ytterligare förbättringar för att bli ännu mer mångsidig och förbli trogen sitt ursprungliga uppdrag: att kunna göra allt!
På Reedin tror vi att om en kite är bra, fungerar den för alla typer av åkning och för alla nivåer. SuperModel är designad med målet att reagera och flyga perfekt, oavsett om åkaren använder en twintip, en vågbräda eller en foil. Huvudfokus ligger på hur den presterar, känns, svänger, förlåter och är förutsägbar, med målet att hjälpa åkaren att ta sitt kitesurfande till nästa nivå och göra varje session roligare.
En av de viktigaste egenskaperna hos SuperModel är dess förmåga att “swinga” ut ur svängarna. Detta gör det möjligt att behålla hög flyghastighet för att skapa mer kraft samtidigt som kiten känns mycket lätt, så att åkaren kan använda en mindre kite. Den ger ett jämnare drag under svängar i vågorna, säkerställer en trygg avslutning av kite-loopen, ger mjuka landningar efter hopp och möjliggör styrning även vid låg vindstyrka när man är underpowered på en foil.
SuperModels unika profil ger otrolig stabilitet som gör kiten mycket förlåtande och erbjuder imponerande glid vid hopp. Den speciella utformningen av vingtippen ger omedelbar respons för snabba svängar, vilket ger en extra kick vid hopp för att snabbt nå höga höjder – för vem älskar inte att hoppa så högt och länge som möjligt?

Arc Stiffener + WingTip tensioner Leading Edge seam.
The Leading seam has been moved in order to add stiffness to the kite’s arc in the center while also adding vertical tension in the strut. This new design allowed us to reduce the Leading Edge diameter even further for a kite that flies now, faster, reacts quicker to bar input and points further upwind.

DAMIEN’S WORDS ABOUT SUPERMODEL V3
The SuperModel is really a kite that reflects the real essence of kiting in my eyes: have as much fun as possible when we go out kiting no matter the conditions, being, gusty or steady, flat or choppy, waves or kickers, light or strong. The focus in the design process is really simple, make the kite perform as well as possible while making it as precise, forgiving and easy as possible.
To reach this goal, the process is always the same, I spend hours kiting in all types of conditions while analyzing what’s happening with the kite, I look for feedback from our clients and riders, and look at video of our kites flying in as many conditions as possible.
I especially focus on anything negative I can find in order to correct it. I was pretty convinced that the SuperModel version#2 was the best kite that I could possibly design. However there is one aspect that I thought could still be improved it is the reaction to heavy load during over powered conditions or heavy loaded turns such as kite loop. DAMIEN’S WORDS ABOUT SUPERMODEL If you’ve ever talk with me about kite design you know how important bridle balancing is to kite design, so I focused specifically on analyzing why some sizes handled better than other the heavy loaded turns, and applied it to the ones that I felt could be improved. It seems like bridle adjustment could be a never ending project., but I’m confident that the SuperModel#3 is the best kite I could possibly design!
